Monterey Missing Erase All Contents and Settings , I have an macbook air m1

I installed Monterey on my M1 macbook air and in the drop down menu in system preferences it doesn't show Erase all contents. Why is that? What I am doing wrong? It's the latest version of the OS.

Don't know why it isn't there but the following suggests options.

If you can't use Erase All Content and Settings

System Preferences includes Erase All Content and Settings only when using macOS Monterey on a Mac with Apple silicon or a Mac with the Apple T2 Security Chip. If this feature isn't available or doesn't work on your Mac, follow these steps instead:
