Firewire to Thunderbolt Adapter

New 24" iMac Big Sur. I bought an Apple adapter but it's too big for the Thunderbolt port. Are there different sizes? How can I know what to buy? Thanks.

iMac 24″, macOS 11.4

You need two adapters to plug a FireWire 800 cable into a new iMac.

First you need a Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter. (sounds like you have this one)

Then you need a USB-C to Thunderbolt adapter to plug that first adapter into the new iMac.
