Just let it finish. It took about 90 minutes here yesterday from the initial download click to completion on an M1 mini over a reasonably fast Internet connection. This will be a test of your patience, provided you have about 36 GB of available storage for the installation.

Hi,

I'm currently approaching 48 hours into my Xcode 13.1 update onto a drive that currently has 650 Gb of free space. During this time, my Mac has been barely responsive most of the time, and has crashed multiple times. Currently, the progress circle in the App Store is about about 10 o'clock, and there's a lot of disk activity. Is there any way to obtain a more detailed view of what's actually happening during the update? I'm assuming that the initial download completed normally at the outset, and that what's taking all the time is some aspect of integrating the update into the operating system components. According to the Internet, it's supposedly possible to do a direct download of Xcode from the Developers' site, but the only thing I can find there is Xcode 13.2 Beta, which isn't what I want. Also, is there any way to interrupt the upgrade process so I can make my Mac more usable?

Thanks,

Ken
