How to get rid of “edit” button that’s on my search/home page?!

Can anyone help with this? It’s stuck bang in the middle of my main page, since I downloaded iOS 15

thanks. Had to download a widget creator from Apps after messing about with my phone for hours. All completely unnecessary and waste of time for me. Must be too many nerds with too much time on their hands and no sense, working at Apple now, to foist this on people who simply don’t want this clutter!! And have other more interesting things to do with their time!!

I'm not sure now after seeing the screenshot that we are thinking of the same thing. It seems that we are seeing the header of the Safari page here, see at the bottom of the screen? That does not appear on the search page. I can make that appear when I'm opening a blank page/tab in Safari and there is nothing showing in Favorites or Shared with You. That way Safari is a completely blank page. That has Edit showing at the bottom. I wonder if that has anything to do with Settings in Safari.
