Unsupported SIM card

We're trying to transfer a SIM card from an android to an iPhone that's on a different cellular network (my friend's daughter gave her her old one). How do we do that?

If you are seeing the error that the SIM is not supported, this means the phone is locked to a carrier other than the one you have the SIM card for. You would have to see if the carrier will unlock the phone for you. See this for instructions, How to unlock your iPhone for use with a different carrier - Apple Support
