Application in storage manager not visible in the applications folder

I am trying to free up storage space on my computer. There is a very large application that I tried to download but the download then failed. The application is now taking up space, but is not fully installed so I can't use it. I would like to delete this app to free up storage space. The appication shows up in my aboutThisMac>Storage>Manage>Applications window, but when I press the delete or show in finder buttons nothing happens. Moreover the app dosen't show up in finder>applicationsfolder or when I search it in spotlight. How can I delete this app from my computer?

That storage display doesn’t just show the size of the app bundle, but also any data and support files. You need to find out where the app stored its setup/configuration files.

They may be in the Application Support folder in your Library or the main Library.
