Delete picture on Lock Screen

When I used to open my one year old MacBook I would see a nice picture of my dog. I don't know what I did but now I have a circle with the letter K in the middle of it sitting right over his face. I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. Can anyone help? Thanks

Sorry, but that "circle with a K" is the default user account image. It cannot be removed, only changed. To change it, you would go to System Preferences > Users & Groups. Next to your user account name to the left, you should find a circle which you can edit to change what is displayed. Maybe a solid color that closely matches your dog's color (nice puppy, btw) would make it less intrusive.

Hey - I have question, how did you change the logon screen (with your dog)? I am stuck with the purple, red, etc. mountain default as my logon screen. Called Apple support and changing it is not supported. My personal opinion, the image is childish and I thought Apple was all about expressing yourself, not being forced to stick with that stupid picture. Any suggestions on changing it? BTW - Apple, fix this bug and allow users to customize THIER computers.

The picture of my dog, Duncan, is my desktop picture. From the Apple symbol up in the top left corner, I went to System Preferences > Desktop and Screensaver > Desktop > Photos. Then I selected one of my photos. I still get that purple, red, etc colored screen when I initially fire up my MacBook Air. And, if I lock the screen I get a symbol (in my case the black yin and yang) right between his eyes. That's what I was trying to rid of, without success. Hope this helps.
