Adding location to weather app
Even if I hold icon in Home Screen and select add location, the location I search for still doesn’t add to my list. Why? How can I add locations?

I did misunderstand your problem. Yes, the “+” symbol is gone. Locations are added differently now. You find the location then add it.

If it is the latest iOS version open the Weather app. Tap the “hamburger” menu in the lower right.
Then tap Search and enter a location to search for.
You should see this:
Then tap Add in the upper right corner.
Sherman and Lawrence Finch thank you for your help. It would appear that one of the locations is too close to somewhere else on the list which is why it did not show ‘add’. I have now added other locations without problems.
Not every conceivable location worldwide is available to view in the Weather app. Choose a nearby location with substantial population.
I can find the locations but am unable to add them to my list. Cannot add any location to my list since the + symbol disappeared. You appear to have misunderstood my problem but thank you anyway.
The ‘add’ does not appear on my screen!
What version of iOS does your phone have? Go to Settings/General/About. It should be 15.1, and if it isn’t you should update to it.
Will check but should be on the latest iOS thanks.
Excellent. Enjoy your iPhone.
