MacBook Air charger

hi I need to change my usbc charger for my Macbook Air which is frayed at the laptop base but can't unhook it from the power block adapter. Do I pull until the cable comes out or does that damage the wall power adapter. Also, how do I know which cable to buy for sure. it's Macbook air from Feb 2020
