Hi ! I have this iPhone XS I just bought running iOS 14 and an iPhone 6s that i want to update to iOS 14.8.1 but in the Software Update Menu I only get the iOS 15.1 version. Is anything that I can do if I want to stick to the iOS 14 ? I checked my Phone Storage and iOS 15.1 doesn’t show as Downloaded, I also have the “Auto-Download” option unchecked in “Software Update”. Thanks!

That's correct. You'll need to update to iOS 15.1 which is current.

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help updating your iPhone today. It sounds like you don't want iOS 15.1 and would prefer iOS 14.8.1.
Please see: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You may not see this option if you aren't already on iOS 14.5.
"If you're using iOS or iPadOS 14.5 or later, you might now see the option to choose between two software update versions. This option allows you to choose between updating to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS 15 as soon as it's released, or continuing on iOS or iPadOS 14 while still getting important security updates for a period of time."

So taking into account that I don’t have on any of the phone ios > 14.5, I cannot update to 14.8.1, neither through iTunes or something elese, correct ?
