CarPlay and Shortcuts

How is it possiblee that I do not seem to be able to do something as simple as to Add a shortcut I made to the CarPlay screen? To do something now, I have to pick up my phone, unlock it search the shortcut and click it meanwhile I am driving instead of just clicking it on my car screen! I do NOT want to use voice for this because it not handy, music stops etc. etc. The all idea of Shortcuts is great and the best use of it is in CarPlay, but I do not manage to Add a shortcut for it. Please help!

Hello Stefano,

It sounds as though you’re wanting to add shortcuts to CarPlay in your vehicle. Apple Support Communities is a great place for help! With CarPlay you are able to manage your applications that appear on the display of your infotainment system. This can be found in the section titled Arrange your CarPlay apps of the following article.

Use CarPlay with your iPhone

When it comes to using shortcuts you’ve created via the Shortcuts application, you would have to use Siri to run those, as the shortcut itself can't be added directly to the display like applications can. More information about using Siri to run a shortcut can be found in the article below.

Run shortcuts with Siri, the Shortcuts app, or Siri Suggestions

You can also find information about using Siri to control CarPlay in the Use CarPlay with your iPhone article.

As adding shortcuts directly to CarPlay isn’t supported you can provide feedback to Apple. They do appreciate all feedback regarding their products, services and features. The following link can be used to provide feedback to Apple.
