Yesterday, I updated to macOS Monterey. 12.0.1.. These updates are NEVER worth the hassles they cause!!! I had recently bought a refurbished iMac and it was a struggle to get the screen saver to be my photo albums. I wish I could remember how I fixed it because after the update, I'm having the same problem... I'm trying to use Ken Burns and Photos as the source, but the screen is just black.

As dialabrain pointed out it's a bug and has been reported. Use a screensaver that doesn't use photos until it's fixed. You might try the 3rd party, open source screensaver, Brooklyn. It's my favorite.

Thank you, Old Toad, but the photos screensaver is precious to me. The photos contain images of people and pets that are no longer with me in this world. So, for now, I'll just use one of the others available through Apple.
