My phone came up with a sign into my outlook account prompt & when I’ve put my password in, a lot of my phone contacts have gone & lots of old ones have replaced them. Very confused & don’t know what to do

The only two things to do are
- Settings, Mail, Accounts - Remove the email account and then add it back.
- Settings, Contacts, Accounts - are the right accounts showing contacts "on"
