Ipad charging issue

This week I bought two iPads 10.2 (8th generation, 2020) coming from a sixth generation one (2018).

Well, charging is sooo slow with its 20W charger.

It takes almost 5 hours, where everywhere I read it should take 2 hours and a half.

That happens to both of them.

Should I do something about it?

No base model iPad has the Power Delivery ( PD ) fast charging capabilities/circuitry.

Base model iPads, like the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th gen iPad models all charge in their normal fashion in about 4-5 hours.

Your 8th gen iPad is charging in its normal fashion.

A 4-5 hour charging time is normal, no matter the wattage charger

It's kinda strange.

I've read reviews that say otherwise, that the 8th generation iPad takes just over two and a half hours.

And now I've just read a discussion about it where many users say their 8th generation iPad takes 2h 40m to fully charge, but others say it takes 4 hours. Don't know why there is so much confusion about it.

A famous site (GSMArena) also did a test with the iPad 2021 (ninth generation) and it took 2h 45m.
