Broken loaner iPhone

I brought my iPhone 12 to my local Apple store for repair. They said the device will have to be replaced but it was flagged to be sent to the depot which might take a few days. They gave me a loaner iPhone 8 while I wait for the repair. I accidentally dropped the loaner phone and the back glass is cracked. If I take it to a third party store to replace the back glass/case (with what looks like an authentic part with the Apple logo) will Apple be able to tell the difference when I return the loaner phone?

First of all, Apple does NOT replace the back glass on iPhone because the back glass is fused to the phone. So of course Apple will know. Just be honest with Apple and take your chances, is all anyone can suggest. But definitely DO NOT try to get a repair Apple themselves would not make and they would absolutely be able to tell was done.
