Hi Zoroo84,

Re: Info. from https://www.apple.com/airtag/

If someone else’s AirTag finds its way into your stuff, your iPhone will notice it’s traveling with you and send you an alert.

After a while, if you still haven’t found it, the AirTag will start playing a sound to let you know it’s there.

Of course, if you happen to be with a friend who has an AirTag, or on a train with a whole bunch of people with AirTag, don’t worry. These alerts are triggered only when an AirTag is separated from its owner.

Also:

Apple Support have various articles online that may help you take more control of those beeps.

You may have the separation alert enabled ?

This article:

Set separation alerts in case you leave an AirTag or item behind in Find My on iPhone

In the Find My app

Says, you can turn on separation alerts for an AirTag or other item so you don’t accidentally leave it behind.

You receive an alert every time the device sharing your location separates from the item.

  1. Open the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, then tap the Items tab.
  2. Choose the AirTag you want to play a sound in the Items list.
  3. Tap Play Sound .1 If your AirTag is within Bluetooth range, it will play a sound.
