how to get my iMac (latest Catalina) to recognize my new Air Tag? Just bought the AT and successfully paired it with my iPhone 11 but cannot get any of my iMacs to recognize it. Also spent time with Apple support on the phone and he failed to accomplish this as well. This is particularly relevant for my Macbook Air as I travel with it and my iphone and a knapsack that will contain the AT.

I am still using macOS Catalina 10.15.7 on my iMacs and MacBook Pro. I cannot see any Air Tags in Find My on those Macs.
Apple's documentation (linked in my previous post) indicates that your Mac has to be at least on macOS Big Sur 11.1 in order to see Air Tags in Find My.
My iPhone is on iOS 14.8 and can see my Air Tags in iOS Find My under the Items tab. At present that's how I am managing & tracking my Air Tags.
ps. It's also interesting (and frustrating) that if you log into your iCloud account via the web you can locate & track iPhones & Macs but not Air Tags or Apple Watches! One would have thought that would have been a drop dead simple addition to iCloud web functionality.

I have the same issue with Find My on Catalina. It appears that you need Big Sur or Monterey to see Air Tags in Find My.

This page indicates support only on Big Sur & Monterey.
Not sure what you mean by recognize. AirTags can be found in FindMy.
With my macbook I invoke FindMy and a list of my devices is displayed but the AirTag is not displayed. BTW, I get the same result with my iMac.
Curious. Did you upgrade the ios? and then was the problem solved?
