Black Dot and lines on display screen 2021 MacBook Air

I purchased a brand new 2021 MacBook Air 13" after 2 months of using it the display started having issues. First a weird black dot in the corner, then weird verticals lines. I did 3 remote support sessions with apple support. We wiped the disk and reinstalled the software 3 times. It would work for a few days then start again each time getting worse and worse until the full screen went black.

The computer would not function at all. I plugged it into a seperate display monitor and it did not work on that so I new it was disk damaged.

This was during lockdown, all apple stores were closed. I tried to fix it myself. I pushed the screen to move the dots and it scratched a little nothing major it was already not functional. Then I sent it in for repair and apple are trying to charge me for a new display at $900 for "customer damage" even though the computer was not working for weeks before there was any cosmetic damage.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I don't know what to do paying for the repair its almost as much as a new computer brand new and the disk is damaged so it will likely happen again.

Hi,

You should contact Apple Support to tell them the circumstance you face right now or make Genius Bar reservation if local retail Apple Store is open or find opened local Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Air there as soon as possible.

I think it's a hardware related issue.
