I go to Bluetooth on my ipad and it does not display the devices that I want to connect it to by Bluetooth. It has been spinning all day and the devices are not being displayed under Bluetooth on my ipad air

My ipad Air will not connect to my Sony speaker via Bluetooth. I just purchased it yesterday. My old ipad that I traded in connected to my Sony speaker via Bluetooth with no problems. The ipad also does not connect to my laptop computer. Where is pairing mode located?
