If your Mac is one of the compatible models listed in the support document you posted from, then follow the steps here: link->How to upgrade to macOS Monterey - Apple Support

Also, note that most of your apps are likely to not run on Monterey., See here for that: link-> 32-bit app compatibility with macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 and later - Apple Support
