Can’t download apps

What if I have a cancelled subscription that’s still active but no longer have a payment method

You need to cancel the subscription properly.

You also need to contact Apple directly regarding any default payments on the subscription because of the lack of payment method in your account details. Until you do, your account will likely be frozen.
