Is there a way to check if all apps are available in the new region before changing it?

I know that some apps are only available in specific countries/regions - can I check the availability of all my apps before changing the region of my Apple ID?

Also I was wondering, if any data may be lost, for example data stored in iCloud (I pay for extra storage and would continue after the change) or app data, app purchases etc.?

Thanks, your help is appreciated!

This article describes how to change your country setting on everything using your Apple ID, and the requirements and results of doing this:

Read how to "Change your Apple ID country or region", click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT201389

You are changing Apple services completely so I would not presume that your iCloud data is rolled over from one service to another.

I don't know how to check for app availability by region other than finding the URL for the app on the App Store and then forcing it to use a different country reference. E.g.,

My default in the USA: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/maps-me-offline-maps-gps-nav/id510623322

German version: https://apps.apple.com/de/app/maps-me-offline-maps-gps-nav/id510623322

Note the "us" and "de"

Thank you for your reply, Limnos!

I will try the manual thing for the apps that may be not available (I guess no need to check messenger services etc. ;) ).

I appreciate your hint to the article, but this is where I came from and as far as I see it, it is not very clear on the results, e.g. what happens to purchased articles that are not available in the new store, what happens to stored iCloud data - basically the questions I had above. Maybe we see a different article (I have read it in German, English and Norwegian, but it says the same everywhere)?

I find the whole thing very confusing. The article states to end all subscriptions - but when I check my phone, it says I have no subscriptions (even though I clearly pay every month and also use the iCloud storage). This made me think that the iCloud payment is somehow a separate thing.

Considering that most of my photos are only in the iCloud nowadays, I would find it very weird not to retain those.

Not your fault, but why does Apple make this so hard? Isn't it quite common to move countries these days?

Apple doesn't say why they do things this way and I am not an international business expert. I know for some things Apple has to negotiate deals with media owners who have different policies in different countries. There's also country-specific laws imposed by the countries themselves. Apple may just find it easier to entirely compartmentalize its dealings country by country.
