I was informed via email that my storage was running out. Before I could act I was informed that I had been upgraded to iCloud (50 GB) for free. But I was just notified that my storage is full. What am I missing?

I was informed via email that my storage was running out and it was recommended that I upgrade to iCloud+. Before I could act I was notified that I had been upgraded to iCloud+ (50 GB) for free. Now I'm notified that my storage has run out. What am I missing?

The free upgrade did not increase the amount of storage, it only added new features. See the following for the features added: iCloud+ plans and pricing - Apple Support
