View the See used and available storage space on your Mac article, in particular, the Other category that you have no control over because it is managed by the operating system:

This is not helpful at all. "Other" has more than 50% of my storage 128GB of it. I know that there used to be multiple caches of gmail on my old Air. Now the new Air is full, 129GB in other. I deleted the caches and did not lose a single email in the old one but retrieved a huge amount of storage back on the old Air. Learning this, I will not buy a new one, I just want to clear it. So please help in doing this.


The tools provided do not address this. I was a pretty good hacker on windows because I had to, just help us please and not say "it is because it is" kind of nonsense.
