How to stop auto fill from adding dashes! Help

I can’t seem to figure out how to remove the - from my ssn on the irs website and it only wants 9 numbers without dashes. I am literally going bonkers. My phone, MacBook, and desktop adds the - . Any help would be much appreciated. When I type ssn in; it’s just 9 numbers and then I click to the next box: tada the - ‘s have been added :( I just don’t know how to get around this torture lol. Thank you in advance!!

If you enter the nine numbers without any errors, then it is perfectly normal for a web form to reformat the number to include the dashes. You didn't enter the dashes. The website form added the dashes after the fact. Try completing the form unless the website is actually giving you an error regarding the dashes.

Is your browser using any extensions or plug-ins? Perhaps those are interfering with the normal browser operation.

Is your browser configured to remember items typed into forms? Then it may be automatically entering using a save SSN number from another form. Turn off this feature in the browser (you may also need to remove any previously saved items).

Have you tried using another browser?

Maybe the website form is broken. Try contacting the website for assistance.
