Camera has been muted by your system

Hi team,

I've recently updated my mac OS to Monterey and my camera stopped working for my Google meet. I've tried changing every permission in Chrome and also in System preferences. None of them worked. Everytime it pops up as Camera muted by system.

I've tried Turning off/on the toggle switch for Hardware acceleration

I've tried Firefox and Safari - No issues accessing my camera on Google meet

Tried Vidyard app within Chrome - it picks up my Camera

Can anyone help me with this?

Hey surya16rd,

It sounds like you're having an issue using the camera in the Google Meet app. We can understand wanting to look into that further. We want to help.

First, we'd recommend checking for and installing any updates that may be available for Google Meet: How to manually update apps on your Apple device

If that doesn't help, we'd suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if that resolves the issue.

If that doesn't help, as the issue is limited to Google Meet, we'd suggest checking with Google support for further assistance: Google Meet Help

Thanks!
