how do I get verification code to find phone if i dont have the phone

Use any internet browser and log into www.icloud.com/find and no two-factor code will be needed.

Even though you can do the above without a two-factor code, I would strongly recommend setting up multiple trusted phone number as soon as you can. See: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support
