Two Apple ID Suggestions

Hello,

I have an iPhone XR with the IOS 14.8 update.

When I go to Settings, it shows a message under my name that says "AppleID Suggestions" with a red 2 next to it. When I tap the right angle bracket, it gives two messages:

New iCloud Terms and Conditions

iPhone Not Backed Up

Under iPhone Not Backed Up, it says "Backups happen when this iPhone is connected to power, locked and on Wi-Fi".

At night my iPhone is always connected to power and always on WiFi. I have no idea of how to make my iPhone "Locked".

I'm not sure of what to do about these two issues.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

To lock an iPhone, you just need to press the power button once and turn off the screen.

You can of course initiate a backup yourself if you wanted to by going to Settings->Account(top of settings)->iCloud->iCloud Backup->Backup Now.

also verify there is enough space in iCloud to actually perform the backup. You can verify how much space you have left in Settings->Account->iCloud-<Manage Storage, and check how much space the next backup needs in Settings->Account->iCloud->Manage Storage->Backups->"This iPhone"->Next Backup Size

For the other issue, tap on it and accept the terms and conditions.

Thanks for your help Phil.

I accepted the new iCloud terms and conditions and that resolved the backup message also. It backed up at 12:40AM.

If I just let my phone sit, it automatically turns off the screen. Is that the same thing?

I don't understand what is meant by "locked". What gets locked? As soon as I touch the screen, it opens up.

Thanks,

Tony
