When I click ⏏ in Finder to eject a USB or a SDD the drive disappears in Disk Utility. How come external HDDs only disappear in Finder but not in Disk Utilty when I ⏏?

That was a different question. This question is regarding HDDs not ejecting specifically.

my bad. i apologize. i missed the fact that the behaviour between SSDs and HDDs is acting differently on your machine.
Yup Apple really out to change the ⏏ button to something with a U in Disk Utility
How come external HDDs can't be ejected from Disk Utility?
