I added my husband to apple idea and it says he isn’t using it…I don’t want him to lose his stuff…..what did we miss?

Thanks for the last response. Now I have another question. My husband was “told” when he switched to my shared plan that he would be reimbursed for his payment on his plan when he joined mine. He was told his payment ($2.99) would be taken care of. ( November 4th) He was paying with an Apple Card. He joined my account the 5th of November. The money hasn’t appeared. ( prorated of course) help.
I just added my husband to family sharing…..his “membership” went away and mine says he is not using it…so nothing is being saved for him. Help?.
