iOS 14.8.1 not offered on my phone.

I have an iPhone 7 with iOS 14.4 and want to upgrade to 14.8.1. However it is not offered - the only option I have is to upgrade to iOS 15. Please explain how I can get the 14.8.1 upgrade.

There are a few reasons why the iOS update is currently not being offered on your device:

  1. Unstable connection to the Apple server.
  2. The device does not connect to a workable network.
  3. A beta iOS version may also cause this error.

You can try to fix it by resetting your Network Settings, but I would recommend double checking if the iOS version is actually not available before doing so.

You can check for new software updates by doing the following:

Settings > General > Software Update.

You can reset your Network Settings by doing the following:

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
