My watch was paired with an iPhone that is now no longer operable

How can I unpair my watch from an old phone that is no longer functional and then pair it to my new phone?

Apple Watch SE, watchOS 7

On your watch, go to settings > general > reset > erase all content and settings. Follow the instructions on your watch to finish erasing it, then you can set it up normally with your phone.
