MacBook Pro sound distortion

MacBook Pro 2021 16” M1. Heavily distorted sound in the speakers but ok in headphones. Is there a known bug in Monterey 12.0.1? Or hardware failure?

The distortion has nothing to do with Atmos?

It doesn't seem related to Atmos. Distortion only in speakers (not in headphones) regardless of the sound source. Can be heard even in notification sounds.
