What is the iphone calendar virus?

Yesterday i was surfing some websites on my iphone when, after i clicked on a website, it opened my iphone calendar app to (i guess) install or subscribe me to a calendar spammed with invitations.

i didn't click "finish" so i basically stopped the process and no calendar was added, i guess.

Am i now infected with some kind of virus? did they stole my passwords? what should i do now?

iPhone XS, iOS 15

If it was successful it simply added a calendar with annoying events trying to sell you junk.

It cannot steal anything or infect your phone with anything else.

Remove Calendar Spam:

In Calendar app, tap on Calendars and uncheck the ones you don’t recognise .

Then  Settings > Calendar > Accounts > Subscribed Calendars, look for the problem calendar and delete it.

When a website asks to send you notifications, special offers etc always say NO.
