Safari Google Search Font

Hi there. Somehow the font in Safari when doing a google search changed to some weird font and I don’t know how it happened. Is there a way to change it?

apfelkopf,

Thanks for taking a look at those steps.

To help with troubleshooting the issue further, try removing the website data and cookies for Google.com using the steps found in this link here: Manage cookies and website data in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

If still having issues after those steps, and because the font is only different when viewing search results from Google, we would recommend reaching out to Google's support at this link here: Google Help

Take care.

Hi there apfelkopf,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. We understand you need some help with changing the font for a webpage in Safari, and we'd be happy to help.

To get started, are you only seeing this font on Google webpages? If so, check out the steps listed on Google's support site under the "Change the font" section, and let us know if that helps: Change how your site looks - Google

Keep us updated with the results.

Have a great day!

Thank you for your reply. Deleting the cookies/website data for Google didn't fix the issue either.

However I was able to find the problem. I went to the Font Book and checked under the 'Web' collection and found that I had two types of Arial Regular fonts. One of them was the font that I kept seeing in Google and the other was the 'real' Arial. Even though it said 'off' next to the wrong Arial it somehow ended up being the font for google.com. I right clicked on the font and selected 'validate font' and then in the validation window selected the font (in my case icedearth.tff) and chose 'remove checked' on the bottom right. Then I restarted Safari and voila, the font changed back to normal.
