Even after configuring the settings to not have the name shown on the notification bar. It still shows when a msg comes in.

telegram has an update and the issue was solved. closed for discussion

What exactly did you do?
did the following... it still shows the sender's name n display picture when a msg comes in... this didn't happen before the ios update
