Frozen after 14.8.1 update

After upgrading iPhone 12 Pro Max to 14.8.1 iPhone froze. Searched support for solution and read to push up & down buttons consecutively/quickly then hold down side button until apple apple appears. After apple appeared and phone reboots it is still frozen.
