shortcut to menu items on desktop

Is there a way to put shortcuts to menu items on the desktop? I want to be able to have shortcuts to things such as bluetooth, display settings, wifi, etc. Is this possible?

Just opening up system preferences doesn't provide the same options as the menu versions.

Bluetooth, Display and WiFi can all be located in the menu bar.

Click System Preferences and then the control panel for each and enable the check box to show the item in the menu bar.

The is no option to shortcut these on the desktop.
