Scam virus detected pop up

Hi, I was using Instagram and visited a website which I didn’t knew could be a scam. The moment I opened the link, there was a pop saying that there were 13 viruses detected in my iphone12 that could do serious damage to my phone and sim. I didn’t know what to do and pressed “ok”. Later i looked it up and saw these pop ups were a scam and could take my personal information and use my data. I did clear all the background apps, cleared my web cache and history and rebooted my phone. I haven't had any problems or such pop ups yet and everything seems normal. Should I be concerned that I pressed ok and this could be bad or should I take any action to avoid my data being stolen or problems as such?

Hello 2008_aybee,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you've had some adware pop up while using an app.

It sounds like you've taken all the best steps to securing your device. The only other things we'd recommend is to check for any unknown apps in the App Library (swipe left on the Home Screen until you see the App Library).

Check for any profiles that may have been installed in Settings > General. If there are profiles, they'll show up. If not, the option won't appear: Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone

If you don't have any issues with unknown apps, we'd use another device and reset your Apple ID password (if you're at all worried about the account itself): If you forgot your Apple ID password

Hoping that helps out and gives you peace of mind, cheers.
