how to install older iOS on device

The downloads section used to have older OS's that you could download and manually install on devices. We have numerous testing devices that we try to update on a regular basis to a specific version of iOS for testing OS/Device specifically. Is there a way to download specific iOS versions by device or is that option no longer available?

You cannot selectively update to intermediate versions of iOS. Only the most current version of iOS, compatible with your iPad model, is available as an update.

Similarly, when restoring to Factory Settings, the restore process will always (re)install the most recent version of iOS that is compatible with the device.

Hello. Downgrades on iOS devices are not supported.

Apple uses a signing system for iOS updates. This means that you can only install whichever version of iOS is currently "signed." For most devices, this version is the latest iOS release that can run on the device in question. As older versions of iOS are not signed, this means you cannot install them even if you have the .ipsw file downloaded.
