iPad is 15.1 widget that displays photos

iPad is 15.1 has a widget that displays photos it decides are memories. I would like the widget to display only pictures I have labeled as family members. I get photos of machinery, houses, other things that are not “memories”. Thanks in advance for your help. Ed

Hi there albuquerque_ed,

We understand you have a question about customizing the content in the Photos widget on your iPad Home Screen.

The line from Use widgets on your iPad below may help:

"If you have photos that you don't want to see in the Photos widget, you can add them to the Hidden album."

I just installed iPad 15.1 and no matter what photos I have in the Photos app, the widget says "No Content Available" Not sure why Apple won't just let me add the photo of my choice, you only want the Apple algorithm to decide what's good for me. As a Tech Lead for over 15 years this isn't a good user experience, I doubt any Apple user wouldn't want to add a favorite pic to their home page. in new iPad OS there is no "Memories" folder that some FQAs suggest.

Why is this made so difficult?
