I foolishly installed the latest MacOS Monterey without checking that it would be compatible with my apps. Previous upgrades have not caused me any problems, but for this OS I find that some developers have provided updates and others not. Does anyone have an idea of when it is likely that OpenOffice (now hosted by Apache) will be compatible with Monterey? Or is it a matter of trying to work out how to uninstall and downgrade back to the previous OS?
I prefer FreeOffice. Much smaller footprint and compatibility is very high for "ordinary" tasks. Many of the more esoteric features of MS Office will not be present in any of the alternatives.
I have it on five Macs running Monterey; none have had any problems.
LO v 7.2.3 is available as I installed it in Monterey yesterday. Just works.
Just ctrl-click and choose the correct entry while opening such app.
I prefer LibreOffice which works OK in Monterey.
oh, that's hopeful! OpenOffice will not boot for me any longer, and I see no update on https://www.openoffice.org/product/mac.html which indicates support for MacOS past Catalina?
What LibreOffice version? v7.1.7 or 7.2.3 are the latest. It works OK in my Monterey test partition in light use.

Thanks Matti. Ctrl-clicking made no difference so I took your tip and downloaded LibreOffice. That gave me the same MacOS refusal to open, but nevertheless opened the app at the same time! Quite happy to be back with LO which I could not find when I first looked for OpenOffice on a Mac.
Open Office works fine for me. What issues are you having?

I have no problem with Libreoffice with Monterey on 2-13 Mac Pro.

I have not updated this app in a long time. I'm presently using V4.1.1which opens and prints fine. Not sure why you get the error message you show.
