Voice over is on when tapping on my HomePod however, on my homeKit app it shows its off. please help.

Some users have reported similar unexpected enabling of voice over. Try "Hey Siri, VoiceOver off", or use the control in the Home app to first turn it on, then turn it off again. You should be able to disable it one way or the other.

Did you set up your HomePod with a device that has VoiceOver enabled? If so, this may be why the feature is enabled on your HomePod.
