want to transfer my photo library from my 10year old iMac to my MacBook Pro. I have activated more space on iCloud to accommodate 12000 photos. I have checked all settings and everything is ok. But only 1500 photos have uploaded to iCloud, all the named albums have appeared but most are empty. Anyone have any ideas please.?

It may take a long time for the upload to complete. What are you seeing in the status bar below the "All Photos" view? Is it still showing "Uploading" or is it showing any item "Unable to upload" or "On this Mac only"?

Thanks. At the bottom of the screen it says - 11,244 photos, 337 videos and then uploading 10,705 items - but it has not increased in days it seems to have just stopped uploading. Thanks for your advice with this.
