Battery life and phone service bars

I never have more than 2 or 3 bars so my phone is constantly searching for service. What can I do to save battery life. I have to charge more than once a day

That’s the nature of cellular network service. The lower the signal strength the more power is needed to maintain a connection; a 1 bar signal requires 10 times as much energy as a 5 bar signal. If you have a Wi-Fi network see if your carrier offers Wi-Fi calling, which would allow you to use the Wi-Fi network instead of the cellular network.
