Pairing a Bose Soundbar remote with an Apple TV

Has anyone made this work? My Apple TV says it doesn’t sense any IR signal from the Bose remote during the pairing process

Hi musicartgeek,

From your post, it sounds like you're having trouble pairing a Bose sound bar remote with your Apple TV. You may need to confirm that this particular remote is compatible with your model Apple TV.

Yes, but the Apple TV has a learning feature which it allows it to theoretically learn the infrared code for volume from any remote. When I follow the directions carefully, and point the Bose remote at the Apple TV at the correct time, I get an error message that says “no signal detected”. What I would love to hear is from somebody who has successfully paired a Bose sound bar remote control with an Apple TV. It should work.
