Can I swap my Apple Watch 7 if I opened?

If I just received my watch as a gift and want to swap it for the Nike version can I? even if I opened it?

you should be able to exchange it. See the info here regarding returns and exchanges This applies if it was bought directly from Apple.

I do not know if Apple would require you to show a sales receipt. That is a possibility.
