Is the 14” or 16” better suited for me?

Hey. I’m torn between getting the 14 or 16” new MacBook Pro and wanting some advice. I’m going from a 13” MBP 2016 but want abit of a change so was debating on the 16” but worried it’s too big for my needs. I mainly use my MacBook around the house, on a desk, on the sofa etc but do take it out now and again. Is the new version of the 16 too heavy and big for me or would the 14” be the perfect size? I can’t get to an Apple store so I’m going by reviews and recommendations. Thanks

For me, personally, the 14 inch is the sweet spot between the 13 inch and the 16 inch. It's not too heavy, has pretty decent (big) screen real estate, and is not that heavy. The only difference between the 14 and the 16 inch models is the screen size and price, so your not going to be missing out on any features/performance gains (although the 14 inch may throttle more due to the thermal differences in size).

I would recommend the 14 inch, but that's only going by my needs. It all comes down to one thing: only you can decide which one is best for you. (like BobTheFisherman said)

Start with what you know about your 13-in model. How does the computer you have now fall short of your needs?

The 14-in is not much physically larger than what you have now, so its size and weight will be comparable, perhaps a bit heavier because it is more "boxy"

Its screen size will be compable, but with a slightly higher resolution.

Does this meet your expectations?

It depends of the scenario:

If you need more screen-space for ample use, then a large screen would be ideal for that. If you don't have lots of room and it is too big for you, then a small screen would be much more ideal.
