iCloud back up

Hi there!

I purchased a new phone and tried to restore it from a back up that happened on November 4. However it is not downloading to the way my

Phone looked on that day and I am missing some of the messages I was hoping to retrieve. Any advice or help as to why this may happened is greatly appreciated

My iCloud backup/restore files are nonexistent? I am trying to recover messages from a 3rd party texting app that I deleted last week. To do this, I am following instructions that are telling me I should restore my former iCloud backups. However, as I am searching on my iCloud account (after signing in on a web browser to view my Account Settings), it appears that I have no iCloud backup files. Yet at the same time my Storage is telling me I have 32.27 GB worth of backup. I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly. I'm not very familiar with the whole process. But it's as if my iPhone has not backed up any files to iCloud at all, even though I thought it automatically does that?

That depends. If you use messages in iCloud, your messages will reflect the current state, not the state on November 4. If you do not use messages in iCloud, your messages from your backup should all be on the new device.
