safari using too much memory on M1

I have M1 MacBook Pro and recently I've been experiencing memory usage error from safari it says safari is using 32.25 GB memory even though my computer has only 8 GB memory and system wants me to force quit apps. I am using Adblock plus and accelerator as an extension and nothing more. what should I do to rectify this problem. I've been using safari for two years and never experienced this before but when I started to use Adblock this happened.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.0

Hello Dr_Waldenström,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. We understand you're having issues with Safari using a large amount of memory unexpectedly, and we'd be happy to look into what's going on.

To get started, since the issue began after adding the AdBlock extension, have you tried removing the extension to see if the issue persists?

If you need any help with turning off the extension temporarily to test the issue, check out the following resource under the "How to turn off or uninstall extensions" section: How to install Safari extensions on your Mac - Apple Support

Keep us updated on the results.

Take care!
